Professional misconduct
All manuscripts must be the authors’ original, unpublished work, and the manuscript must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Note that we check all submissions for plagiarism (including self-plagiarism), and we take the matter seriously. See our Ethics Policy at https://www.informingscience.org/Pages/EthicsPolicy.
Self-Plagiarism. It is easy to avoid self-plagiarism. It is acceptable, even desirable, to build on your prior published works. Just be sure to cite such works in your submission. If you reuse a small portion of wording from your prior works, you need just explain in your paper at the appropriate section of your text that the section is re-using such previously used wording and cite that work.
